Margaret began her career following the footsteps of her father as a journalist, reporting for several newspapers in North Carolina before working at Public Impact, an education policy firm based in Chapel Hill, N.C. She switched gears in 2020 after starting her MBA journey at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and fell in love with entrepreneurship. Upon earning her MBA in 2022, she worked as an underwriter with Wayflyer, an Irish-based fintech startup specializing in e-commerce merchant cash advances.

At SG Stonegate Capital, Margaret is responsible for reviewing, underwriting, and executing new transactions in addition to managing client relationships. Margaret graduated from UNC Hussman School of Journalism in 2019 as a four-year letter winner on the Varsity Women’s Rowing team, and UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School full-time MBA program in 2022, where she served as president of the Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Club.
